Farnham Road Club has grown quite rapidly over the last few years, with members, male and female, in a wide range of age, experience and ability. It has remained a friendly and easy-going organisation, run by a stable committee backed up by the enthusiastic support of the members.
Competitive Activities : The Club is affiliated to Cycling Time Trials and its competitive activities are centred around the promotion of both ‘Open’ and ‘Club’ events over various distances in a programme running from March to the end of August. Full details can be seen by clicking on ‘Events’. The club is also affiliated to British Cycling, giving members access to the benefits of belonging to that organisation and the possibility of competing in events held under its jurisdiction.
Sunday Club Runs : Weekly club runs are held on Sunday mornings, leaving Farnham Maltings at 8:30. These tend to be informal and may well include different groups, according to the distance to be covered and the ability and experience of the riders. For further details please see the Sunday Ride menu option, top left.
Sportives : Members ride a variety of ‘sportive’ events, both locally and further afield.
Mountain-Biking : There is a small but enthusiastic mountain-bike section, operating mainly (but not exclusively) in the winter months.
Social Activities : Outside the competitive season, the club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at ‘The Jolly Farmer’ at Blacknest. The Annual General Meeting is normally held in November. The Dinner and Prize Presentation usually takes place in early December.
Membership : Membership (Adult £16 pa) runs from January 1st to December 31st each year. Please see the Membership section of the website.
